Wheelchair mother wins Paralympic seat battle to ... - BBC World News

Paralympic Games organisers have backed down after a disabled mother claimed she was prevented from sitting with her family. Beth Davis-Hofbauer is now able to sit with 19-month-old daughter Amelia at the Paralympics cycling (Pic: File) Wheelchair user Beth Davis-Hofbauer collected 32,000 names on an online petition and was yesterday promised four tickets so she could sit with her husband and two children. The 32-year-old complained after she was told she could only have seats for herself and a ?companion? at the Velodrome. As her husband, Edward, is also her carer, the allocation meant her autistic four-year-old son Milo and 19-month-old daughter Amelia, would have to sit by themselves elsewhere in the venue. The mother of two, from Fareham, Hampshire, says she has received a flood of messages from disabled people with similar problems. A spokesman for the 2012 Paralympics said: ?We will do what we can to help people out and we understand people want to experience the Paralympics together.
